Bahrain needs many skilled technicians right now. The country has jobs in oil, factories, building projects, hotels, and hospitals. If you have a diploma or certificate in technical work, you can find good jobs, especially in Manama city.
Main Jobs That Need Technicians
- Oil & Gas Companies: Big companies like BAPCO need instrument technicians and calibration technicians.
- Factories: Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) and other big factories need mechanical technicians and welding technicians.
- Construction: Many new buildings and roads in Bahrain need construction technicians and civil technicians.
- Hotels and Hospitals: They always need maintenance technicians for AC, electricity, and plumbing.
How Much Money You Can Earn
There is no fixed minimum salary in Bahrain, but this is what most technicians get today:
| Job Type | Basic Salary Per Month (BHD) | Extra Benefits You Usually Get |
|---|---|---|
| Normal Technician (1-5 years experience) | 250 – 350 | House, transport, medical insurance |
| AC / HVAC Technician | 220 – 300 | Free food or food money, flight ticket every year |
| Special Technician (instrument, electrical, etc.) | 350 – 500+ | Bigger allowances, end-of-service money |
Average salary for a normal technician is about BHD 293 per month. Always look at the full package – basic salary + house + transport + food money. That is your real income.
The LMRA Work Permit Technician Bahrain Process
In Bahrain, only the employer can apply for your work visa. You cannot do it alone. The government office that controls this is called LMRA (Labour Market Regulatory Authority).
Employer Sponsorship (The Most Important Part)
Your boss must start everything. The company must be registered with LMRA.
What the employer must give:
- Company registration paper (CR)
- Job offer letter
- Proof that they follow Bahrainisation rules (they must hire some Bahrainis first)
What you must give:
- Filled visa form
- Passport (valid for at least 6 more months)
- Your school or technical certificates
- Signed job contract (must be in English and Arabic)
Medical Check and Waiting Time
You must do a medical test before you get the visa.
- If you are still in your home country, go to a Wafid (GAMCA) medical centre approved for Gulf countries.
- The test checks for HIV, TB, hepatitis, and other diseases.
- After the medical report is ready, the employer uploads everything to LMRA system.
- LMRA and immigration office check all papers. This usually takes 2 to 4 weeks.
Get Visa and Come to Bahrain
When LMRA says “yes”:
- Employer pays the visa fees (you do NOT pay these fees – it is illegal if someone asks you to pay)
- You receive a visa number. You can use this number to enter Bahrain.
- When you arrive at Bahrain airport, they put a stamp in your passport.
- Within the first days, your employer takes you to finish the residence permit (RP) and get your Bahrain ID card (CPR card).
- Work permit is normally for 1 or 2 years and can be renewed.
Bahrain Labor Law for Technicians – Know Your Rights
Bahrain law protects workers. These are your main rights:
| Your Right | What the Law Says |
|---|---|
| Working Hours | Maximum 8 hours per day, 48 hours per week. In Ramadan only 6 hours per day. |
| Overtime Money | Normal pay + minimum 25% extra for day overtime, 50% extra for night or holidays |
| Yearly Holiday | After 1 year, you get minimum 30 days paid holiday |
| End-of-Service Money | After 3 years: half month salary for each year. After that: 1 full month salary for each year |
| Who Pays Visa Fees | Only employer pays. Never pay anyone for work permit or residence permit fees. |
Very Important: If any agent or recruiter asks you to pay for visa or work permit, say NO. It is against Bahrain law. Real employers pay everything.
Secure Your Future in Manama Safely!
Bahrain is a safe and good country for technicians from India, Pakistan, Philippines, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and many other countries. The rules are clear and the government protects workers.
Best ways to find real jobs:
- Check official company websites (Bapco, Alba, big hotels, construction companies)
- Use only LMRA-approved recruitment agencies in your country
- Never pay money to anyone before you see a real job contract
If you tell us your exact skill (for example: HVAC technician, instrument technician, electrical technician, welding technician, etc.), we can give you direct links to companies that are hiring right now.
